Flamenco Dancer
11×14″
A couple of weeks ago I actually took time off from preparing lessons and kids to paint this flamenco dancer. Her photo has been sitting on my desk for some time and I have been wanting to paint the swish of her dress. She is one of the dancers from the show I saw in Cordoba, Spain last year. I was excited to find out that we will be returning to see another show in Cordoba when I return to teach.
I will be taking another painting group to Spain in October, 2012. If interested, please visit

Beautifully done, Leslie. Flamenco is such a powerful dance.
Thank you Carol. It is not only a beautiful dance but the music is beautiful as well.
Wonderful! I can see the movement in her at the key points. I have a friend who plays Flamenco guitar and I went along to a presentation last year. What fascinated me most was that they dancer leads and the music follows. Thanks for sharing.
Your work is so inspiring. I love the spirit and the proudness of this woman, that you have so perfectly conveyed. Great Work!
Thank you JAllgood and Katherine for you comments. I really enjoyed painting her.
