Pen, Ink, and Watercolor
This past year I have been experimenting with more pen and ink work. I taught a class on how to do pen and ink with watercolor. Little Nuthatch is one of the pieces that I demonstrated for the course. The background is India ink, The bird is watercolor and all the wonderful texture is the pen work. I really enjoy the pen work because it transports so well. It is even easier to carry around and work on while travelling.
This is absolutely gorgeous!!! I am finding that I enjoy the watercolor with pen and ink and leaving so much uncolored – it really makes the colored part pop right off the page!
