I currently have a solo exhibition at Liberty Gallery in Spokane, WA this month. Although the show is called Western Colors, I wanted to do another poured painting of watercolor tubes. The idea for this painting, Watercolor Poured, Divided has been percolating in my head for a few years.
I have done 2 similar paintings of these tubes of paint before and they both sold immediately. One of these paintings received an sponsor award in The Women in Watercolor International Competition in 2020.
The other one was accepted into the Watercolor USA exhibit at the Springfield, MO that same year.
Since then, several art and art supply enthusiasts, have coveted and commented on how much they love these 2 paintings. However, a few also mentioned that they could never afford one of my paintings.
That gave me the idea to pour another large painting of the watercolor tubes and then divide the painting into 5×7″ panels. Each panel alone is part of the puzzle and is like a little abstract painting. These panels are only $150 US each. And as each panel sells, I hope to replace them with another panel within the same painting, only using different colors. I thought it would be interesting and fun to see how the painting transitions from one color palette to another.
The complete painting and the individual panels can be viewed on my website at https://www.leslielambertart.com/.
The show runs through July 28 at Liberty Gallery in Spokane, WA
