Old Doors, Locks, and Latches

This spring I am teaching several courses on Old Doors, Locks, and Latches.

The above painting I did for one such course. It is a door from Spain. We learned not only how to paint wood but the old, flaking, peeling wood as well.

I will be teaching a similar course in April at the Coast Collective Gallery in Colwood, BC

The course is also Old Doors but this one is done on clayboard, which is also called Aquabord (by Ampersand)

Aquabord is a clay coated hardboard that accepts watercolor quite nicely. It has a beautiful texture that lends itself well to the texture of wood.
