This past week I taught a course on watercolor landscapes with texture. The painting that I demonstrated is of a quince tree that was behind the resort where I taught in Spain.
The first thing I showed was how to do light washes of atmospheric color to create a mood. Then when that was dry, I painted the trees behind by splattering and spraying paint. The quince tree was done the same way but with more saturated paint. The grass is done with a fan brush and a bit of salt in the front.
What a lovely painting!
Beautiful painting. Done the background work so nicely.
Thank you Angela and D.D.
The textures in this one are brilliant. The chair in the middle of no where makes it so interesting.
