This past Saturday I taught a course on negative painting in watercolor. In this course, I showed how to pour paint, blow, spritz, and fingerpaint using the 3 primary colors. Once the paint dried, I “found” tulips and painted the negative shapes around and between the tulips to create the flowers.
Sunday was the Bowker Creek Brush Up in Oak Bay. It was a beautiful day for the event. More of my paintings found new homes which is always a bonus. Now I can keep painting.
Leslie, I really like the looseness and freshness of this painting!
Thank you Christiane! It was a fun painting and a great technique to teach.
Your negative paintings are wonderful. Every time I go through your negative painting, I can’t help but I have to admire it.
Thanks D.D. I really enjoy the negative painting. It is like cloud watching.
Stumbled on your blog by chance. Happy I did. Your watercolors are brilliant. Congratulations.
I am so glad you found me AK! Now I can enjoy your blog as well. It is always nice to meet another color addict.
