I Did It!
Yesterday was Vancouver’s 10K Sun Run.
This is my first time doing the Sun Run and my first time doing a 10K.
My husband’s office does the corporate team sponsorship every year so we both signed up to be a part of the run.
The team’s name was The Speed Bumps which I thought was appropriate for me since my mantra while training was “I Am The Turtle. I Am The Turtle.”
There were 48,000 people that ran the race.
My time was 1:12:10
I placed # 21830.
Think I have a chance at the big time?
Ha!
The Starting Line
We were in the white group.
There were 3 groups of runners that started before us.
I didn’t dress up for the run but several people from the office dressed up as pigs.
Love the pink port-a-potties!
Me and some of the piggies!
Well done, Leslie … 10K is a long way! I'm afraid my running days have…'er …run out!
Way to go Leslie!
Yes, it is long. A half of a half marathon! Maybe that should be my next goal. Actually, it was a really easy course with lots to see and some interesting conversations to hear.
Hi, Leslie,
Congrats!! Enjoy taking a rest, too!
Cheers, Sadami
Thank you Sadami! It feels great to accomplish something you have been working towards.
Great job, that is really an achievement.
Hurray for you, Leslie! That is no small feat.
24 years ago (when I was 29), I ran the Berlin 10K…it was in fact my one and only group run!!!! It is such a great feeling when you finally see the end in sight, especially when so many people in front of you have crossed it way before….. So congrats to you and take that well deserved break.
Thanks Gillian and Kathryn! Maggie, what a great way to see Berlin. Enjoy your break and I can't wait to see more of your beautiful washes when you come back!
I give you a lot of credit for doing the run, even more for finishing it!
Thanks Nancy. It was actually really nice to have a goal other than painting and school.
