Red Wine on Linen
One of my assignments in one of my courses this summer was to choose a nontraditional medium and/or substrate and create something with it.
I have been wanting to paint with red wine for awhile so now was my opportunity.
I found some linen napkins and a bottle of shiraz and created the above portrait.
Here is what the full napkin looks like:
It is 15×23.5″
The flower was already stitched on the napkin.
I enjoyed doing it so much, I decided to try just a little painting on watercolor paper
Wine Grapes No. 1
There is definitely more control on the paper.
Different … I like it! ;)
I never would have thought of painting with it, what an interesting idea, and I love the results too Leslie.
Finally, a way to make red wine stains a positive thing. This is really lovely, Leslie. Your creativity never fails to amaze me!
Thanks everyone! I am considering changing my medium from watercolors to wine!
