WIP- trees
I had a little incident over the weekend that threw me off of my decision to blog more.
I am still not sure how to approach it so I am just going to move on until I find the words to talk about it.
I do want to thank everyone for all your encouraging words.
Like all things, being an artist has its challenges.
Most of my weekend was spent with my family and hiding in my studio painting my trees.
The best part of it was when my husband said he could tell I was enjoying this piece because I had a goofy little smile on my face.
The other piece that I am painting is on clayboard.
It is the Vancouver skyline as seen from Jericho Beach.
WIP- Vancouver Skyline
24×36″
It is interesting to do washes on a piece of clayboard this big. The texture is pebbly (is that a word?) and washes don’t go on as easily. In spite of that, I really like the effect.
I have a show going up in 3 weeks at the Jericho Arts Centre.
When I applied to have the show last summer, I thought I would have plenty of time to get 6 large paintings done.
Ha!
It is crunch time but thank goodness I have a couple of weeks before classes begin to try to get more done.
Those are looking great. The wash has come out beautifully in the second one… am sure it will come out well. Keep going.
Thank you Asit! I am excited to work on the skyline some more.
I just got home from a beautiful walk in a park that looked just like this! I wish I could buy your painting! It's lovely!
The trees are beautiful and the painting of Jericho skyline is coming together nicely.
Katherine, How wonderful that you also live so close to a place of such beauty! You are always welcome to buy my painting:)
Gillian, thank you. Do you recognize the area?
The paintings are great, as usual, Leslie, I'm just worried about you. Hope you're all right.
Kathryn, thank you for your concern:) I am fine. Just busy and tired.
The clayboard painting is looking wonderful – washes are gorgeous! wishing you peaceful painting times :)
