We all know that color affects mood but have you considered using that notion in a painting?

Instead of painting what you see in a photograph, try some other colors instead.

For instance, in the above painting of The Old Shed, the original photo had some beautiful green lush grass and foliage around it.

Instead, I painted it with ochres and browns.

Now the painting has a feeling that it has been a long summer and the end is near.
