Hill Top Farm
11×14″
When I was in high school, I loved photography and I had an obsession with farms and barns. I had this dream to drive across the country and take photos of barns. My younger brother knew of this fascination and he would help me spot barns to photograph during family vacations. He even made me a barn out of Popsicle sticks for Christmas one year. Unfortunately I have lost that barn. Wish I still had it or a photo of that amazing popsicle barn.
Although I never did take that drive, I still love barns and still photograph them every chance I get. But it is not until recently that I have wanted to put barns into my paintings. Now that I am painting barns, I decided to teach a course on barns and farms.
Hill Top Farm is the first from the course.
Very nice Leslie! This painting brings back early memories of driving through the mountains with my family. Back then I lived in Edmonton, AB.
This is really beautiful Leslie. It's a very soothing scene.
Beautifully done, Leslie! I can think of a few beauties out this way – just waiting to be painted. :)
Thank you everyone! It is a farm in Idaho and pass it whenever I go see my mother.
Lovely picture!
I love old barns as well but to me they cry to be drawn in pen and ink.
Wendy, barns in pen and ink are wonderful! And you do pen and ink so well:)
