The book that I illustrated, Island in the Salish Sea, written by Sheryl McFarlane and published by Orca Books came out 2 months ago. It is about a little girl that visits her grandmother for the summer, having lots of adventures on an island in the Pacific Northwest.
Orca Books asked me nearly 2 years ago if I wanted to illustrate this book. It has been an incredible journey trying to capture Sheryl’s vision. It was fun to decide which parts of Vancouver Island I wanted to illustrate and I was able to include some of my favorite areas.
