I did this painting awhile ago at a workshop in North Vancouver. I think it was March? I’ve been so busy lately that I seem to have lost track of time. Sigh. So much is going on! My daughter is applying to universities and is currently trying to make the big decision. My son is getting more involved in sports. Right now it is high jump. The poor dog is putting on a bit of weight from the lack of long walks. Good thing spring warmer weather is here. And I, of course, am still trying to keep it all organized.
Tomorrow I am teaching my first Photoshop for the Artist course at the Monterey Centre in Victoria. Then I have scheduled to do some individual critiques at the centre on Friday and finally, on Saturday-Sunday, I am teaching Painting the Abstract in Watercolor, also at Monterey. I am looking forward to that one. We will be painting to music and trying to recreate a sound through color.
Then on Tuesday, I am doing a very exciting thing. I am flying to Pittsburgh to demonstrate and promote Indigo Art Papers at the NAMTA (National Art Materials Trade Show) Conference. There will be representatives from all the big brands and art stores across North America. I am a little nervous and excited all at the same time. I will keep everyone updated on how it goes. Hopefully I will remember to take a few photos. I tend to feel overwhelmed with nervousness at times and forget.
If you happen to be at the conference, please stop by and say hello. It would be great to meet some of you.
Lovely one Leslie. You really did capture that golden hour glow.
Wow, wow, and wow! The first wow is for the painting and how incredibly stunning it is. The second is for the photoshop workshop, which I should be taking. I need to figure out how to layer one photo on top of another, with the top one being somewhat transparent… And the final wow is for the demo that you're going to do! I'm in awe of all of it, Leslie! You're an inspiration to me.
Very proud of you sweetie! The kids are doing great and your career is soaring.
You can make it through these next 2 busy weeks and then off to Spain! You and Rick can put on your show and enjoy some of Mike's fabulous cooking and Hillary's warm hospitality.
You will always be my muse – D.
Lovely rose! You really captured that feeling of the light on it.
Can't believe your daughter is heading off to University. I met her at one of your demos and that didn't seem so long ago. Good luck to her.
Sounds like that poor dog will be gaining more weight with the schedule you have going right now!!
Hi, Leslie, take it easy. The work looks gorgeous!
Cheers, Sadami
WOW … you really are busy!!! Beauty of a rose, Leslie~ And I wish you the best in your Pittsburg presentation!
Kathryn
PS – you could bring Twilight here for some work-outs :)
Thank you Carol. I really wanted to see if I could capture the glow. I'm glad that you think so:)
Katherine, you are so awesome! I would be happy to show you photoshop. Thanks for your encouraging words.
Dirk,
Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox. Love you!
Thank you Wendy. Yes, I'm sure the dog is sulking on the couch right now.
Salami, thank you. I am looking forward to slowing down and taking some time with the kids this summer.
Kathryn, Twilight needs a play date. She would love to come out to see you. Then I can tell you all about Pittsburgh.
